Research Achievements of the Department of Information Technology from 2005 to 2025

Over the past 20 years (2005-2025), the Department of Information Technology at Vietnam Academy of Agriculture has made a significant mark in the fields of scientific research, technological application, and international cooperation, contributing to the development of digital agriculture and comprehensive digital transformation.

From 2005 to 2025, the department’s faculty have published nearly 300 scientific articles domestically and internationally, many of which appeared in prestigious global journals, demonstrating their dynamism and active contribution to the international research community. Additionally, faculty members have undertaken nearly 150 projects at various levels, promoting technological solutions in agriculture and rural areas.

The student research movement has been growing strongly, with nearly 100 scientific research projects and creative ideas. Many of these projects have won high awards in innovation competitions and notable student projects organized by the academy, helping to shape a young, dynamic, creative generation ready to meet the sector’s innovative demands.

  1. Technological Products and Practical Applications

Faculty members have developed numerous software applications to serve teaching, student management, such as departmental student management systems, automatic grading software, computer-based testing software, and other learning support systems, which have been widely adopted across the department and the academy. Moreover, many software programs created by students have been well received by businesses and the market, enhancing practical skills and supporting digital transformation in the agriculture sector.

  1. Conference Activities and Research Capacity Enhancement

Over 20 years, the department has organized about 100 conferences at various levels, including one national-level and one international conference. Notably, the international “Smart Space Access and Applications – IAAA’2025” conference was successfully held in 2025, attracting over 200 delegates and leading scientists from nearly 50 domestic and international universities. This event has contributed to enhancing the department’s prestige, creating opportunities for international cooperation and exchange, and affirming its position in information technology and digital transformation.

  1. Strong Research Groups and Digital Transformation Activities

Two major research groups, “Big Data and Digital Transformation” and “Software Development and Intelligent Systems,” have been established under the directive of the Academy’s Director. These groups bring together highly skilled scientists and faculty passionate about research, aiming to implement digital transformation tasks for the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture. They focus on researching methods of collecting, processing, and exploiting big data, developing AI, IoT, automation applications, all toward sustainable, green agriculture aligned with national digital transformation strategies.

  1. International and Industry Collaboration

In terms of cooperation, the department signed several strategic collaboration agreements with leading universities worldwide, such as the University of L’Aquila and Parma University of Italy in 2024. The cooperation includes faculty, researcher, and student exchanges, research collaborations, project development, conferences, publications, and academic document exchanges.

Domestically, the department works closely with technology companies like 1C, NIC, and others to promote development in student training, internship support, and post-graduation employment.
