Introduction

The present Department was established in 2007 together with the Faculty of Information Technology. But if we look backwards, there had been a computer unit in Hanoi University of Agriculture (HUA) since 1982 with the name of  “Informatics Department” under direct management of HUA Rector. That “Informatics Department” constitutes foundation of the two present day computer departments of the FITA: Software Engineering and Computer Science.

Beside delivering lectures on software engineering to FITA undergraduate students and Introduction to informatics  to all undergraduate and graduate students of HUA, the department have carried out a number of research projects, many of which got high evaluation assessments.
